The fastest way to book or receive a quote to email legacywindowwashing.mb@gmail.com with your name, address, and if possible, pictures of your home/the work you would like a price for. You can also fill out the form on our contact page, which is where you will also find our other contact information.
If we are doing only exterior window cleaning and/or the eaves, you do not need to be home, though it's always great when we're able to meet you in person! If you are not able to be home, that's totally fine, but we do always make sure that you are comfortable with us doing the work while you are away at the agreed upon date and time.
If we are doing interior windows, we will need access to the inside of your house so someone will need to be home, at least to let us in to do the work.
We accept cash, cheque, credit card or e-transfers. You do not need to pay until after we do the work. An invoice can be provided via email for any services we perform for you.
If we are doing the inside of your house, there is no need to take any screens out. We will do it all when we are inside the house.
If we are washing only the outside, most screens come out, but taking them out ensures that even those windows with screen that do not come out from the outside will be washed. If a screen does not come out from the outside we may ask you to remove it for the inside.
This depends on factors specific to your home and request, like how many windows are being washed or how full your gutters are. On average, window exteriors take 2-3 hours, while the average eaves cleaning job takes 1.5-2.5 hours. Once you have received a quote from us we will be able to tell you more accurately.
We will offer you our soonest available slot and work from there. If it does not work for you, we will work to find a time that does. Typically, booking are made 1-2 weeks in advance.
If you have received a quote and want wait before getting work done, that's not a problem. Just let us know and we can book a date for you months in advance. You can also hold onto your quote and call us when you are ready, or request that we to reach out to you in a couple months/weeks to start the booking process then. We are flexible, so just let us know your needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.
To cancel, postpone, or alter any services from us, just reach out using the whatever method you used to book. Call, text or email to let us know what changes you'd like to make. We appreciate knowing of changes sooner rather than later, but if it is last minute, we understand - sometimes life flies at us faster than we'd like!
If we are planning to wash your windows and it is forecasted to rain that day, we will contact you to find the best day to reschedule. While it is possible to do wash windows in the rain, it is more difficult to ensure that windows are as clean as possible, so we avoid it unless you advocate otherwise.
If you are scheduled to have your eaves cleaned and it is forecasted to rain, we will still come - the rain even helps us a little bit!
In order to keep prices low, we look at each home individually and give you a custom quote. To find out what factors into the cost, check out our pricing page. t First we will look at your home on Google maps. If we can see all we need, we can provide a quote without seeing the house in person. Often, its difficult to see all we need from here, so we need to see it in person. If this is the case, we will reach out to ask if we can show up on your property to take a look and provide a price.
We have a base fee for arriving your home to do the work. Then each window, section of eaves, or repair is added to that base price. This meaning getting all the work done at once can save us time and save you money.
There are many steps to washing a window, but here is what you need to know:
The best method for cleaning windows requires getting as close as possible to each window in order to wash and inspect each window thoroughly.
This requires long ladders, short ladders and getting low for the basement windows.
When we clean a window, the surrounding frame, sill, and screen are always washed as well.
If you have your interior windows washed, we also open the window and clean the track.
To clean the glass itself, we use special streak-free glass cleaner, a strip washer, industrial squeegees, specialty razors and microfiber clothes.
Depending on your property, it may not always be possible to climb a ladder to reach the windows we need to. So in those cases, we use a water-fed pole to reach where we need to!
Each window is always inspected before moving to the next, and if it's not perfectly clean, we do it again scrubbing and scraping anything that was left behind!
We want each and every one of our customers to be happy with the work we've done, so if we ever leave any streaks or otherwise behind (which we pride ourselves on not doing!), we will return to the site and make sure things are done right.
1) Using a few hand tools (and often, just using our hands!), we first remove large obstructions like leaves, sticks and clumps of dirt.
2) (Optional) We use clean water to flush out all the remaining little stuff, like asphalt dust and dirt that weighs down, and clogs up your eavestroughs. This additional water option allows us to get the gutters as clean as possible, and also allows us to better inspect for possible issues like leaks, areas where they may be poorly angled, etc.
3) Clear out all the elbows and down spouts with water and a snake, then flush them out with clean water to ensure they are flowing smoothly.
4) (Optional) Once the insides are clean and flowing smoothly, we can clean the outside of the gutters.
Once this is complete, we clean up any debris that fell from your roof or eaves, making sure to leave the site nice and clean, just like your gutters!
